Meet Your Maker Words as, “you are struggling” were on repeat throughout grade school. Once I was diagnosed with an auditory processing disorder, I became my own best advocate. I became resilient and strong. I am feisty because of it. It was with art I figured out quickly who I am and who I am meant to be. With art I do not struggle. With art I am at peace and I am whole. It is with art, the most important component of my practice, I am able to be me. I am unwilling to compromise my art for anything less than self-advocacy.[1] |
